Planned Giving – Bequests

Planned Giving

Thank you for sharing!

Of all the different ways and structures to make a planned gift, the most common is through a bequest. A bequest is usually done through one’s will and names a specific asset or assets to be transferred to the charity upon one’s death.

This is considered a tax-wise way to make a gift while maintaining control of the asset(s) throughout your lifetime.  Also, as a benefit for the charity, unless otherwise stated, the gift can be used for any purpose.
